Probably not leucistic, but the "brown" mutation. See https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/mdbirding/CADHRZckg2ZgCRV%3D2%2BO9TnpmnipYCQDFzTXPcPoFLgshsa0rVJg%40mail.gmail.com. and latest MDBirdLife issue.

Sorry, the link I meant was: https://nativesuburbia.com/discovery-journal/house-sparrow-brown-mutation/

I couldn't find a link for Maryland BirdLife Volume 70, Issue 1. Three articles about birds with the brown mutation.

The current two years of MD Birdlife are not digitized...

In the most recent issue of Bird Life are my photos of a Leucistic House Sparrow that is somewhat similar to this one by R Coyle.   Dean in Ellicott City.

Hi Dean,
Your nice photos of the house sparrow are in an article by Eugene Scarpula as an example of the brown mutation, not leucism (Maryland Birdlife vol. 70 (1) pages 46-50).

MOS just approved a promo for new members...

From memory: new members will have an 18 month term rather than the normal 12 months of membership. Members receive two issues of MD Birdlife yearly.

Don't know if that would get them the latest Birdlife issue [vol 70, #1] or not...

Jim:

Strictly speaking, that hasn't quite taken effect. The necessary bylaws change is being voted on right now by the MOS membership. Have you voted yet? If not, go to https://mdbirds.org/join/member-information-restricted/mos-officer-ballot/, log in, and vote!

Also, the extended term is only for new members who join between March 1st and September 1st. And this is a permanent change!
