Mississippi Kite in northern DC

Just a heads up that I clearly saw a Mississippi Kite soaring above 13th st at the northern tip of DC yesterday. It was headed towards Silver Spring/Takoma park. Appears to be the first sighting of one in DC this year.

I also thought I saw a kite doing a smooth banked turn for about a second before going out of view a few days earlier along Alaska avenue (near the former Walter Reed site) in the same area. I didn't have enough confidence to report that given the momentary nature of the observation and inability to relocate, but since I clearly saw a Mississippi Kite yesterday, I think there's a good chance my first instinct about the previous sighting was correct.

Unsure if this was one of the Rockville kites or a Virginia kite or possibly a kite at an as yet unfound nest in DC or Silver Spring/Takoma park. Keep an eye out if you're in the area, though!
