That's right - there are more warblers at King Farm than you would imagine if you know what King Farm is. This is by the section called King Farm Stream Valley Park and they have been eating out of the locust trees along Crooked Creek Rd. The MD Birding - Faceboook group which specializes in photography has been on to this location the last week. It seemed we should let this group know about it too. Here is my ebird report for our activity today:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S23495551

In summary what we saw, and more importantly were able to photograph, (unlike most locations in Montgomery County)  were:
Northern Parula
Yellow Warblers
American Redstarts
Magnolia Warbler
Black and White Warbler
Blackpoll Warblers (lots of these)

Other days last week we also had Common Yellowthroat (no big deal here) and Chestnut-sided Warbler.

This location has been off the radar for most birders. In just two weeks with a few of my meager ebird reports I have bumped the species count of this location from 35 to well over 50 signifying birders are not going here if my poor birding skills cause such a jump.

As the crow flies (sorry for the bad pun), the storm water management ponds in the Kings Farm development are right next door to well known Mont Co warbler hotspot, Watt's Branch Park. A few years back, when I had more time during the week, I always found it productive to stop here on my way home after birding Watt's Branch with Paul O'Brien. Paul mentioned to me a few times that his son, Michael, had some great birding in the area years back before all the houses were built.

After exploring the areas around the ponds, I also found it productive to drive slowly along Crooked Crk Dr and Thompson Dairy Way w/ window open listening for interesting warbler song.

Karl - thanks for your post. I will migrate my sightings from personal location to the hotspot listed in eBird.
