On Friday the 19th all 4 young were seen on the nest. The fourth bird is sometimes hard to spot. All 4 were seen when being fed.
We've been viewing the nest through spotting scopes from the roof-top parking lot of the Baltimore County Public Library. It costs a few bucks to park there, but the view is not only good for the nest but also good for watching the adults as they hunt and fly around downtown Towson!
Of particular interest is how the adults react when raptors get too close to the nest. Red-tailed Hawks seem to be tolerated somewhat, while Turkey Vultures are escorted away quickly. Perhaps this is because Ravens are known to cache food that Vultures may find.
I believe this is only the second confirmed report of Ravens nesting in Baltimore County.
