I am looking for recommendations for an iPhone or other app you have used successfully to trim Merlin app recordings to submit on eBird. I'm happy to pay for an app if it is a good product.  Thanks in advance!

This article from ebird has some good information. I've been using the Ocenaudio product that they mentioned (mostly for normalizing) but you can also select and delete sections of audio with it. Now this is a computer app (not a phone) app just to be clear. I typically transfer files from my iphone or a digital recorder to my computer first so it fits my workflow just fine.

I don't know of any apps that will let you edit directly on your phone, but there may be some. If you're able to download the audio file to a laptop, I recommend Audacity, which is free open-source software for all your audio editing needs: https://www.audacityteam.org/. I used this to crop and normalize a clip of a Marsh Wren I heard a few months ago and it only took me a few minutes.

There are some suggestions from eBird on the recommended editing process before you submit: https://support.ebird.org/en/support/solutions/articles/48001064341-audio-preparation-and-upload-guidelines
