Two points deserve special emphasis:

1) This group has no intention of competing with or replacing any of the excellent list-serves here in Maryland. We are active participants and supporters of those groups. This is an overdue supplement, where posts about lichens, beetles, and hybrid oaks have a home.

2) Please be extremely careful about not disclosing sensitive locations and sites for sensitive species. There are real dangers of loving our favorite sites or species to death. When posting about sensitive locations, simply replace the exact location with the general area, such as “I found this rare plant in a bog in Anne Arundel Co.” Please do not post specific locations for orchids, ginseng, or other plants in danger of over-collection. Repeat or blatant offenders may be temporarily suspended from the group. Please contact a list moderator if you have questions or concerns.
