Major Job Fair - June 14, 2002
Who Is Next?
Military Community, which will be held on Friday, June 14th from 10am to
2pm at the Community Cultural Center of the Northern Virginia Community
College in Annandale, Virginia. This job fair is free to all job seekers
and is especially for transitioning and former/retired military personnel
(all ranks, all branches of service; active duty, National Guard, and
Reserve) in job search mode. Military spouses, Federal employees, and
other civilians are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is no
pre-registration or pre-screening. All are welcome.
In addition to the job fair, there will be 5 free seminars -- all starting
at 9am in the Community Cultural Center. These presentations will include
"How to Work a Job Fair," "Dress for Success," "No Fear Transitions," "Find
a Federal Job," and "Free Information Technology Training."
Some of the 95 companies that will be participating include: Lockheed
Martin, TRW, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Booz Allen
Hamilton, SAIC, MPRI, Federal Bureau of Prisons, First Command, FootAction,
Toll Brothers, Southwest Airlines, DynCorp, Pitney Bowes, ACS Defense,
Anteon, ManTech, RadioShack, Capital One, Men's Wearhouse, George Mason
University, FBI, CIA, DEA, INS, U.S. State Department, UBS PaineWebber, and
many others. There will be a wide variety of employment opportunities,
including jobs in information technology, Defense, electronics, law
enforcement, construction, engineering, financial services, health care,
intelligence, telecommunications, service/retail, human resources,
transportation, logistics, and administration (among others).
You are encouraged to research in advance the participating companies and
Government organizations by accessing their web sites through the

many copies of your resume to the job fair. We also recommend that you
update your resume on Corporate Gray Online, as ALL of the companies that

database. With regard to manner of dress, we recommend business attire,
though military uniform is also fine.

From the South (Belvoir/Quantico/Richmond): Take I-95 North to the Capital
Beltway (I-495), Exit 170B (Tysons Corner). Stay on I-495 to Exit 52A (Old
Exit 6), Route 236/Little River Turnpike west toward Fairfax. Continue
approximately 1 mile, then turn left at the 3rd traffic light onto
Wakefield Chapel Road. From Wakefield Chapel Road, turn into the campus on
the third entrance on the left -- Center Drive. Park in the Community
Cultural Center or Visitor parking lot. If full, park in surrounding
student parking "B" lots. DO NOT park in faculty/staff areas, even briefly.
Parking fees are waived for job fair attendees. Address: 8333 Little River

From the North (Fort Meade/Baltimore): Take I-95 South to the the Capital
Beltway (I-495). Take I-495 west toward Silver Spring. Follow I-495 into
Viginia and take Exit 52A (Old Exit 6), Route 236/Little River Turnpike
west toward Fairfax. Continue approximately 1 mile, then turn left at the
