Description: Infrastructure Server Administrator; Senior Tracking Code 224304-598 Job Description NCI Information Systems, Inc. located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland is currently looking for an Infrastructure Server Systems Administratorato join our team.a This candidate should have a fundamental understanding of operating systems and be familiar with UNIX, Linux, RedHat, Solaris and/or NT commands or utilities at the user level.a Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through off site storage and retrieval services. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.aOversees the maintenance of data files and the monitoring of system configurations to ensure data integrity and develops procedures for and manages system backups and disaster recovery. In addition, responsible for overseeing the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts; addition of software drivers; and connections of systems to the network. Establishes, documents, and enforces system administration policies and procedures. Required Skills The selected Senior Infrastructure Server Administrator must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field with five to seven years experience with UNIX and/or Linux server Systems Administration. The selected Administrator must have experience with Network Appliance (NetApp), Sun Solaris 8 or 10, and/or RedHat Advanced Server 3/RedHat Enterprise Linux 3. In addition, must have experience with Virtualization VMWare ESX Servers is required, along with UNIX/Windows interoperability problem resolution; DNS/NIS configuration, email support (Mozilla, exchange, sendmail, etc), jumpstart and kickstart.
