Dear colleagues,

I am glad to let you know that JBO will be publishing a new special issue on Monte Carlo (MC) methods and open-source MC simulators next year (2022) to celebrate the 30 years anniversary since MCML was posted online by Lihong Wang and Steve Jacques. I have the great pleasure to be a guest editor of this special issue, along with Dr. Fabrizio Martelli at Univ. of Florence and Dr. Lothar Lilge at Univ. of Toronto.

We are interested in all aspects related to MC light transport modeling, especially new codes, simulation methods, open datasets/benchmarks, and broad applications. The key dates are

- Submission opening date: 31 August 2021
- Original submissions due: 15 November 2021
- Final acceptance deadline: 15 July 2022

Detailed information can be found at JBO's website and the call is also attached with this email.
