weekend hike in Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, Boesmanskloof Hut and back

Hello all,

as a pre-hike for our upcoming Groot Winterhoek Peak mission I will do a weekend hike in the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve.

Dates: Saturday, 9th April - Sunday 10th April 2022

Route: From the NR entrance via the Orchards Route to Boesmanskloof Hut, 12 km along the HH mountains, 339m height gain. Same way back next day.

Accommodation: Boesmanskloof Hut, has 4 rooms with bunk beds and mattresses, roofed braai facilities with wood provided. There's the river next to it for a cool dip.

I would consider this an easy and kids/family friendly outing, if your kids are able to do a moderate day hike on an established trail.
