Congratulations to the McNear Science Olympiad Team! Last Saturday the 22 students on our team won first place competing against 23 other schools in Sonoma county.
The Science Olympiad is a fun and spirited team event that challenges Sonoma County fourth, fifth and sixth graders to demonstrate their scientific knowledge, understanding and skills. The students learn facts, concepts and processes that deal with the disciplines of life, earth, and physical sciences. Our McNear Science Olympiad team members signed up and began their meetings in early January. Every Wednesday morning, while most of us were just getting out of bed, they met from 7:30 - 8:15 with Terese Abelli-Amen and Christine Walker and began cracking codes and discovering scientific mysteries. Great job team! We hope you all get to sleep in this Wednesday!
Three cheers for McNear!!! Three cheers for Science!!!
