[mclinker] icf plans

I'm curious to know what the plans are to get icf implemented in MCLinker. Google's research paper and methodology is available online and the implementation seems straightforward. Of course that doesn't actually speak to the level of complication to get this implemented with MCLinker. :D

Have there been thoughts, designs, or ideas about how this functionality might fit in the current MCLinker design ?

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your interest in icf! I think icf implementation in gold is straightforward, and we follow the basic algorithm. The reason: both gold and MS Visual Studio have ICF and an option to control ICF iterations.

Another thing we care about is the performance. We did some performance evaluation, and now still looking into this part.
