Community Opportunity Fund (COF) | Nominations for projects are now open!

Rec Park Improvements | All Project UpdatesPosted on January 15, 2026

Nominations for Community Opportunity Fund (COF) projects are now open!

To get started today:

  1. Visit the program page, review the sample application, application instructions, scoresheet, FAQs, and the Implementation Plan!
  2. Sign up for a pre-application workshop! Pre-application workshops will be held in the evening on Tuesday, February 10 and during the day on Saturday, February 21. In-person attendance at one of the workshops is mandatory. Once you complete the workshop registration form and select a time slot, Rec and Park staff will confirm a specific appointment time. Sign-ups for the pre-application workshops will close one week before the workshop date.
  3. Daydream about the park improvement you’d like to see in your park!

A link to the online application will be shared with everyone who attends one of the mandatory workshops in February and receives a pre-approval letter from Rec and Park staff to apply. Paper applications will be made available upon request.

Applications will be accepted February 2026 through March 2026.

Once the application period closes at the end of March, all nominated projects will be evaluated by an independent review panel led by Rec and Park. Then, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission will review the panel’s recommendations and make award decisions by June 2026.

We look forward to receiving your registration form!
