"This Saturday, November first is the day for our monthly Volunteer Workday at John McLaren Park.  We meet in the main parking lot of the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater (21 John Shelley Dr.) at 9:30 AM.  The work is until noon and this month will include removal of invasive Armenian Blackberry.  Bring your heavy garden gloves if you have them. Otherwise, SF Rec and Park will provide gloves and tools, water and snacks (from Arizmendi Bakery).  Dress in layers, this could be the warmest workday of the year. The high is forecast to be nearly 70 degrees.  Long pants and long sleeves are recommended for battling the Blackberry, they do fight back.  There will probably be other invasives to weed that don't require bloodshed.  I will mark a flour and chalk trail from the parking lot to the worksite. I  will also shuttle workers from the Glen Park BART Station to the Amphitheater.  SFH3 will provide additional snacks and BEER.  We are only 12 hashers away from our goal of 200 volunteer hours for 2025.
