McLaren Park Trails | Upper Reservoir Parking Lot – Temporary closure starting 3/16

Starting Monday, March 16, our contractor will reshape, repave, and stripe the crosswalk near the Upper Reservoir parking lot.
This crosswalk carries you to Philosopher’s Way across John F. Shelley Dr., east of the Blue Water Tower. To complete the crosswalk work, the Upper Reservoir Parking Lot will be temporarily closed during the week of March 16.
Parking is available along Shelley Drive, and the nearest accessible parking is at the Redwood Playground Group Picnic Area.
Pedestrians are encouraged to avoid the area and use the parking lot driveway as a detour.
Final planting and punch list work will be completed in the coming weeks, along with installation of dog waste bag dispensers.
One of our 2020 Bond Quick Start projects is updating the McLaren Park map, installing new wayfinding signage at key intersections, and developing a park-wide interpretive program. Some of the trail signage will be installed with that effort later this spring.
We’ll announce opportunities to engage with signage development in the coming weeks.
