Hi, Folks, The Zoom link and meeting information is listed at the end of this email. 

The purpose of this meeting to introduce park folks to projects that you may want to add your support for McLaren Park.  

1. Some of the projects are being brought forward by individuals with grant opportunities from the Community Opportunity Fund.  Here are the McLaren Proposed projects. Hopefully someone representing each project will attend.

McLaren Native Plant Garden Expansion- Fran Martin

Improvements near Jerry Garcia Amphitheater- Tom Murphy

Louis Sutter Lighting- Albert Sandoval

Louis Sutter Multi-Use Court- Joel Winter

2, There will aldo be a presentation by RPD staff for a potential Nature Exploration area for kids--think of it as a natural playground area made up of all natural (repurposed components) logs, boulders and stumps--This area will add another fun play component to McLaren  for climbing and active play. The proposed location is in the link below (near the tennis courts off University Ave. & Mansell.The project description link will give you lots of details. The RPD project manager, Maria Durana, will be attending to answer your questions. This project is a great opportunity for those who want to see McLaren "keeping it wild".

3. And...for discussion. An ordinance to officially establish a Pacific Islander Cultural District (PICD) under Administrative Code Chapter 107 was introduced on February 24 at the Board of Supervisors.  About half of McLaren Park continues to be included within its boundaries.   Anna Abeyta would like to inform people of the PICD Ordinance and answer any questions. She has been researching this matter for some time.
