Special Note: Due to the Jerry Day festivities taking over the parking lot at the Amphitheater, our meeting place has moved to the parking lot at the Upper Reservoir. If you are driving, this is a little tricky. Just head west on John F Shelley Drive until it ends at the parking lot. If you are walking, running or cycling there are many routes depending on your preference for pavement or trails. If you are on a ride service, the official address for the lot is 217 John F Shelley Drive. Our team leader, Jessica Cornelius, has been promoted and will be in charge of restoring Yerba Buena Island. The Natural Areas folks will send someone new or old and we will have plenty of work to do. I will mark a hash trail, chalk and flour, to the actual worksite. I will also provide rides from the Glen Park BART Station to the start location. Let me know if you need a ride.
We work from 9:30 AM until noon. Dress in layers, it is looking warm for Saturday with a high of 73 degrees. If you have a light long sleeve layer, bring it. It might be handy for the war on Blackberries. SF Rec and Park will provide gloves and tools, water and snacks (from Arizmendi Bakery). SFH3 will provide more snacks and BEER. We had the month of July off, so lets get back to sprucing up McLaren Park and promoting the native species that abide there.
