The Fire Department will be staffing a Chief at the SFPD Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In addition to SFFD's normal staffing, the Fire Department will be standing up Mini Pumpers 17, 25, and 43, and assigning an additional Incident Scene Specialist to assist the Battalion 10 Chief in tracking companies and assets.
For the day, the Fire Department's dispatch response will also be modified. Any large outside fire will receive two engines and a mini pumper. This is especially important for areas like McLaren Park. Any outside fire near a residence will still receive a full box response (3 engines, 2 trucks, rescue squad, 3 chiefs, and an ambulance).
The San Francisco Police and Fire Departments and the Department of Emergency Management are reminding residents and visitors that all fireworks (including those branded as “Safe and Sane”) are illegal in San Francisco.
