Client uses Windows XP and works on Tally ERP. When ESET installed on the workstation Tally application throws an error i.e. Attempting to open "D:\Tally.ERP9\Data\10001\TSTATE.TSF"
Error code: 32
Does temporarily disabling real-time protection help? If not, what about disabling web protection or http filtering (in the advanced setup)? Should the problem persist, try renaming C:\Windows\System32\drivers\eamon.sys and ehdrv.sys in safe mode, one at a time, to narrow it down.
This is a known issue caused by how the Tally accounting software works. The issue doesn't occur on Windows Vista and higher. In the future, please contact ESET via the official channel for ESET partners to get a timely response.
I am also facing same problem. I am using Nod32 Server version on Windows 2008R2 & Tally Multi user. Is any proper solution found for this issue, as I am getting this error almost 8-10 times in a day & tally is shut down abruptly.
For Tally to be able to check the multi-user license, the Mac must be connected to the Tally server. To do that, open Finder, and either choose the TallyServer from the left-hand column under Sharing, or press Cmd-K and type the server address as smb://192.168.0.1 or smb://tallyserver or whatever the location is. Enter the password, if any, and tick the "Remember this password" option. Your mac can be set to automatically connect to the TallyServer during start-up. See this: =en_US&locale=en_US (for Lion & Mountain Lon: )
// Editing INI file instead of changing server address in Tally:
9a. Quit Tally. Crossover will give an error that Quicken was not installed because it can't find it. Click on "Skip Step".
9b.In Crossover, go to the menu Configure>Manage Bottles. Click the "Advanced" tab and then "Open C: in Finder".
9c. Open folder Tally.ERP9. Find file "tally.ini". Right click and "Open with">"Other". Choose "TextEdit". Change the Tally License Server to "Tally License Server=192.168.0.x:9999". Save.
Since it is an app, no installation is required. Double click the "Wineskin Winery.app" so downloaded and a dialog box will be displayed with a blank "Installed Engine" and a blank Wrapper Version". click the + sign to download an engine. I am working with the engine "WS8Wine1.2.3" though there are newer versions available and they give the "out of memory error". Once the download is completed ... click on update for the wrapper version and select Wineskin-2.5.12 Once this download is completed too, click on "Create New Blank Wrapper"
A dialog box is displayed asking for the name of the app you want to create, in my case I named it as "WS8Wine.1.2.3.Tally.ERP9". A message with X11 permission could be displayed, Allow that. Also another message about geko installation will be displayed. Cancel that. .... once the process is completed the wineskin wrapper will be displayed.
Double click the wineskin wrapper from the user/Application folder using Finder. A menu with Install Software is displayed. Select that and in the next screen select the .exe file of the tally version you want to install.

Hi Bimal,
I tried your solution But i am having a problem of providing the path for the data file at the Tally Server its like //192.168.1.XX/Tally.ERP9/Data/ on my other pc running Windows operating System and this works for them. I my case the license is easily picked by the Tally running on Wine but even after providing the path in the Tally configuration file still there are no company visible. Bimal Will you be able to let me know how did you resolve this issue.
The program tally.exe version 1.0.4.6 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
You need to collect and present a lot more information to begin reviewing. Is the W2K12R2 server a remote desktop session host? If yes how many users? Is it happening to everyone? Is it happening at certain times? Can it be forced to happen or is it completely random? Does it happen at startup of the application? Does it happen right after a server is rebooted or only after it has been up for a long time? Are other applications affected? Did it ever work right? Is it a new installation? Does the application access data across the network on a file server share? Are there mapped drives involved?
Yes, it is. May be around 30 users. It is quite random. The crash happen quite randomly no fixed pattern. Its a new installation. It was working fine with my old server which had win server 2008 r2 running. The data is on the server itself.

Further, I also tried to install Tally 9 in same windows version but I am not getting the patch/crack of tally 9 to install the full version of tally 9. So, can anybody throw some light on this issue also?
I was also facing the same problem regarding Tally 7.2 and now i've stopped searching for the solution since i came across this blogpost from Microsoft which states that Tally 7.2 is incompatible with Windows 7 and hence shall not run on it. You can have a look at the same:
I have found a wayout. I took out the hard disc of my old laptop working on windows old version where tally 7.2 was installed. I put it in a casing and attached to laptop via usb. It appears as external drive and the tally exe thereon uses data on my new laptop and it works!
I am using Tally 7.2 in Windows 7 for a long time. I had the same problem for a while. It is not a big issue at all. I have taken help from Windows tech support and they resolved it quickly. Thanks to them. You may contact them for proper help.
