We just got an amazing pick up truck load of donations from the Home Depot on Gallatin.  We are ready to plant tomorrow!!

If you can join us, we'll be at the garden from 9:30am-11am.  The garden is located at 225 Berry St right beside the Salvation Army chapel.

There will be cold water, granola bars and maybe some red, ripe strawberries for you to taste!

We hope to see you there!

We had such a good work day at the garden this past Saturday.   Seeds and seedlings were planted, signs were made to label everything, and the drip system was set up.  It looks really good!

Special thanks to the Briley Parkway Home Depot for their generous donation, The Salvation Army for letting us use their land and water, and VEGI (Vanderbilt Educational Garden Initiative) for getting the garden established, helping financially, and for the amazing drip system!

For the rest of the growing season we will be having a workday on the first Tuesday evening of every month.  I'll post it on the google groups and facebook pages to let you know the time.

We are also looking for people to "adopt" a bed.  You would be responsible for making sure the weeds don't take over in between our workdays.  To give you an idea of the time commitment for that.  Stopping by the garden every week or two should be enough to manage the weeds.

I'm attaching a document with the layout of the garden and what is planted in each bed.  Beds 3, 5, and 6 are already adopted!

Thanks
Michelle Forlines
