Welcome McFatter
Family!
This is the final week of high school for all seniors. Thank you to you all for giving us the opportunity to teach your students and for allowing us to be a part of their lives.
Last week, the Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards were held at the James L. Knight Center and senior, K'Wolanne Felix, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Social Science category. The awards are given for consistent school and community service and academic excellence in particular content areas. Also, last week Broward County Public Schools recognized seniors with perfect attendance, and Victor Ugarte was honored for McFatter. Congratulations to you both.
Prom was an amazing event on Saturday. There was a lot of love and sweat put into the night by the seniors, a handful of tenth and eleventh graders, and especially Ms. Woods and chaperones. Thank you for all you did to make this a memorable night for the class of 2018. Anyone who would like additional pictures from the Prom pictures taken by McFatter Photography, please see Mrs. McColgin in the communications building. Packages begin at only $10.00. You can email her for the details at danielle...@browardschools.com.
For all ninth to eleventh graders, students will be taking finals beginning next Friday (June 1st) which will result in the last day of FAST Tutoring being next Wednesday, May 30th.
No matter the grade, remember to finish strong and attendance counts daily still. If a student is exempting their final exam, parents must call in each day to avoid an unexcused absence… this includes seniors through this Thursday.
As always, there is a lot more information below…
Take care,
Lillie Henry

ADDITIONAL
ASSISTANCE FOR PARENTS:
At the start of the 2010/11 school year, the Food and Nutrition Services
Department implemented an online meal application for parents to apply for free
and reduced-price meals in a simple, convenient, and confidential manner.
Throughout July and August of 2015, Food and Nutrition Services utilized a
mobile unit to provide additional assistance for parents in completing the
online meal application. During the 2017/18 school year, Food and
Nutrition Services and schools provided computer access and support staff for
parents, resulting in 99.93 percent of households that completed a meal
application utilized the www.myschoolapps.com
web site.
Food and Nutrition Services staff will again provide assistance for the 2018/19
school year. The attached schedule identifies the date, time, and
location in the District where staff will be located. The staff will be
based at 19 centrally located sites providing assistance to 112 sites
identified through application data. Food and Nutrition Services will
inform parents of the schedule, via the District’s Parent Link phone messaging
system. In addition, Food and Nutrition Services will provide assistance
to parents at high school open houses and orientations according to the
attached schedule.
