Position: Principal Engineer (Front-End Web Development)

Description

• Your job will entail working in an engineering team on design & development, and working with leads & architects across geographies to ensure interoperability and maximize reuse.
• You will help define and drive the design of next generation high performance frontend APIs/components powering Yahoo websites
• Aspects of technology you will work with include Web Services, Performance Engineering, XML, Database design, caching mechanisms, User Activity Tracking, etc.

Basic Required Qualifications:

• BE/B.Tech/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years experience
• Experience in designing high performance, scalable middleware and server side components and frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience with technologies that power Web. Web standards & protocols, with server side scripting languages PHP, HTML/DHTML, CSS, AJAX , JavaScript and Web Architecture is required
•  Experience in Production Web systems characterized by high-end performance, reliability, availability, scalability, security

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with web technologies, web standards & protocols, languages (C/C++/Perl/Java) and OOD Methodologies is a must
• Experience dealing with production web systems characterized by high-end performance, reliability, availability, scalability, security
• Exposure to Test Driven Development, Link Tracking, SEO, Web Vulnerabilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
• Strong Technical leadership qualities
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
• Self directed, highly motivated individual
• Contributions in external forums (conferences, publications, blogs, open source) a plus

Description

• Aspects of technology you will work with include Web Services, Performance Engineering, XML, Database design, caching mechanisms, User Activity Tracking, protocols like REST/SOAP etc.

Basic Required Qualifications:

• BE/B.Tech/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years experience
• Experience in designing high performance, scalable middleware and server side components and frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience with technologies that power Web. Web standards & protocols, Perl, Php, MySql, Unix, XML, REST/SOAP, network programming, Languages, Methodologies (OOD)
• Experience in Production Web systems characterized by high-end performance, reliability, availability, scalability, security

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Test Driven Development, Link Tracking, SEO, Web Vulnerabilities
• Internationalization, Localization Exposure
• Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
• Strong Technical leadership qualities
