Anybody knows fuel efficiency of the car engine?

Max 33% to 40%,

Meaning if you put one liter of petrol, only 400ml is utilized to
power the car and reaming fuel goes as a waste heat through car
exhaust.
Why cant we use this waste heat?

a. People can cook while traveling,
b. Converting waste heat into AC

Lets design car AC which runs on car exhaust, Trap the heat use it forcooling or heating the car interiors.

It would be interesting to have a fridge and a cooker installed in the boot of the car. So in the morning you put water + rice and its cooked by the time you reach office, and remains hot till you eat it.
Wow!! can we make this work. would love to be involved to make it happen.
Cheers

Hi Siddarth

Am doing research on this since 8 years. Air-conditioning is difficult to do with Vapor absorption machine (VAM), because you need a cooling tower.

But defnly yes we can do the cooking part very easily. But let me do the research on VAM with out cooling tower?

I am sure a small cooling tower can also be built on the roof of the car.
We had a few years ago designed a mobile home where we used a fridge that could run on 220v/12v/lpg. I am sure that technology exists today to use the waste heat to make it work.
We may need to have some kind of simple electronics to keep tab of amount of heat available and for the time it is there or else we may have half cooked rice or half baked bread :-))
