TheBlu model update - my Splitfin Flashlightfish

Hi all,
This is my Splitfin Flashlightfish model for TheBlu so far. This is the 1500 tris LOD. So far I've used 1461/1500 tris.
I'm relatively new to 3D modelling, so I'm not sure of if the fins should be attached to the body (as different elements?) or left separate. At the moment all the fins, the tail and the body are separate objects. I’ve attached 5 pictures of the model in my workspace and my reference page.
I haven’t posted anything on TheBlu just yet. Do I just post my WIP on the forums, or update my project and post on the forums asking for a critique?
Advice is welcome and requested :).
