Assalamu-Alaikum,

I hope everyone's Ramadan is progressing well.  I just wanted to clarify something, this week I have received 2 phone calls from random people at the Masjid both times telling me that they received my number from someone at the masjid.  Over the past two months I have received multiple calls from strangers telling me that they obtained my number from people at the masjid-- specifically from the office.

Please, my dear brothers, do not share my number with people without my permission.  Please also do not share anyone from the zakat committee's number with strangers either.  We have an email address mccz...@gmail.com that we check very frequently and we respond same day.  Therefore, I implore you to refer all people to our email address and to not give out our number.

I'm not saying anyone on this email thread gave my number, but you are the persons in charge of the front office and that is where most of the people said they got my phone number.  The people who called could be lying, but just in case, I wanted to reiterate that most of the zakat committee people receive unauthorized calls and a lot have complained to me  about why their number is being given out to people.

I just got off the phone with a brother who made me feel very guilty about why I could not meet him tonight.  I am not sure who this person is and he refused to tell me what he needed help with.  You can imagine my hesitation to meet with him.  He won't even tell me why he needs to meet me, but he told me that he got my number from someone who works at MEC Morton Grove because he was there tonight having iftar.  Like I said, he could be lying about where he got my number, but I wanted to address this matter in the kindest way possible.  Please take my message in the best of light and know that I am saying this with the best of intent and manners.

JazakAllahu Khair for all of your help!

Asrar
