Is anyone working on determining the most essential GLCE's from each
unit that could be the primary focus for some struggling special
education students? I love using MiC3 ideas, but the lessons take me
much longer than outlined in the curriculum. I feel like my special
education students often get bogged down in the details that are
needed to get to the more conceptual expectations. I would love to
hear ideas from others.
Thanks,
Melissa

Melissa,

I would look at the focus questions on the front of each unit and
spend you time answering those, ignoring lessons that you don't think
get you to those answers. If they can answer those questions (and you
might need to scaffold and rewrite for your students) they have met
ALL content expectations, but with emphasis on some more than others
(there are some that only take small chunks of time and others that
take days and days...)
