We use the attached graphic organizer to write informational text. I used it to compare and contrast New England and the Southern Colonies. The Umbrella represents the topic paragraph. Each drop represents (geography, history, culture, civics, or economics). Students write 2 or 3 facts for each area represents N. England and S. Colonies. Finally the puddle is used for conclusion notes. This graphic organizer helps to develop paragraphs and the flow of the essay.
