I have used an activity in the past to teach the Triangle Trade.
After discussing the lesson, students are given roles to cover all the
actions for trading. Students really enjoy moving around the room and
seeing this in action. They also love that a tax collector comes
along to tax each transaction for the King. Each main job has $100 to
start with, at the end we look to see which person made the most
profit. They are always upset that the King gets so much money for
sitting on his throne in England. I think it helps them understand
how the colonists felt about being taxed.
