A great informational article

Secret Language, Scholastic News / November 3, 2008, p. 4-5.
A great article about the role the Navajo played in using their
language as secret code during WWI and WWII. Tying Reading and Social
Studies together,
I used this article to practice informational reading with my
students. They used their stopping points to make connections, ask
questions, and cited the big idea in the margins.
