My students were a bit confused with the vocabulary for landforms and bodies of water. Food is very motivating for my students so I brought in some treats (m & m's, Hershey's kisses, licorice, fruit by the foot, etc.). They used the food items to represent the vocabulary words and built a food city. They copied the candy model to a paper model and described their city. It was a fun way to work with the vocabulary words!
