Hi all!
I apologize for the absence last year but Mercer County Math Circle is back this year and will be held on the second Saturday of each month for this fall semester. The first math circle meeting of this year will be on Saturday, November 12 at the Princeton Public Library, with the advanced session starting at 2pm, and the recreational session at 3:14 pm.
Similar to before, the advanced sessions are designed for high school and advanced middle school students to hear talks on a wide range of topics outside the traditional school curriculum with a focus on applications of math, such as how stats can lie as well as how computers do math.
The recreational sessions are designed for students in grades 6-12 who have a basic understanding of algebra. This series will integrate lectures with hands-on activities to illustrate how seemingly simple games and puzzles lay the foundation for many advanced topics in mathematics.
We will send out abstracts of the talks as the dates get closer.
Also, feel free to invite anyone who may be interested and tell them to join our listserv to get more updates here: goo.gl/sZMO3H.
Also, I have created some flyers attached and would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with your colleagues!
See you soon,
Roy Zhao
