Just a quick straw poll... How important do people feel (in Week 1 here) that Lean and this course are to you and Tech Support as a whole? Say, ranking 1-10 with 1 being unimportant/useless and 10 being very important.

I'm just curious to know what everyone's initial thoughts are. I've taken courses on Lean and believe in many of its tools and components, so I'm excited to see how this will play out and what kind of a result we will be able to achieve in the coming weeks.

I would say a definite 10!

Can anyone think of a good way to remember the forms of waste: Muda, Mura, and Muri, as well as how to keep them straight?  I get them confused often.  Thanks.

Muda = think of MUD, and how useless it is... non-value adding, waste
Muri = ends in "i" so think impossible... you would be overburdened trying to achieve it
Mura = no trick, just buck up and learn it... unbalanced

I'd go with a 10.  I look forward to learning more about it and practicing it as a standard.
