Brethren,
Last Sunday, Alan Mowrey taught a great elders quorum lesson about the purpose of quorums. The key reason our quorum exists is to provide service. Service to fellow quorum members as well as others. Well, it so happens that this Saturday we have an opportunity to help a quorum brother who had recently joined us: David Leveille. He and his wife are doing serious renovations on their new house and there is more than enough work to go around. We're talking demolition of walls, plumbing, electrical, wallpaper, you name it! I would like to call on as many of us as can to help out this Saturday Sep. 8 at their new house at 3403 McBain Ave. in Redondo Beach. You're welcome to show up any time after 8am and help for as long as you can. For those who can, I think it would be great to come from 8-12 or 1. Bring your work gloves, (and mask and goggles, if you want) because I understand this is a real work site! (Also, FYI, David has promised pizza in exchange for labor)
Finally, let me just say that as I looked around the priesthood room during our quorum meeting on Sunday, I was impressed with the caliber of our group. I love you guys, and we are capable of doing great work together. So let's live up to that greatness and be a quorum!
Thanks, and I hope to see you Saturday...
