Back in 2016, when I was living in Houston, I had a slight accident whereby a semi-truck sideswiped the right rear of my coupe on a left turn (it was the trucker's fault).  Damage was not too extensive, but I had a new section of the rear quarter welded in, and the entire car re-painted.  Much of the expense was covered by the trucking company's insurance firm.  Most of the repaint I covered myself, as my paint was original up to that point.

After getting the car repaired and painted, the dealer couldn't quite get the rear wheels into proper alignment.  I purchased the rear subframe and rear trailing arms from a 1990 300SEL sedan (all of the rear suspension is shared between the coupes and sedans) and finally have been getting around to rebuilding the entire subframe, rear trailing arms, and will replace all of the rear suspension rubber & bushings in the process.

I've been documenting this in the C126 area of my forum, so I'll direct you to the relevant posts, if you're interested in following along and in the detailed HOW-TO articles that I'm creating along the way.  You'll need to register for the site if you want to see all of the many dozens of photographs in the various posts.

Much more to come, of course, as the car will have the entire subframe and rear suspension removed, including differential and driveshafts, and it will be replaced with the newly rebuilt items.

Cheers,
Gerry
