82 SEC - power roof cable

Hi all,

I’m a little challenged trying to source a power roof cable for my SEC.

I’m in Canada which sometimes is more of a challenge, but for this particular part, insane pricing seems widespread.

Any suggestions anyone ?

I have an '87 560SEC I'm parting out. The sunroof cable is still in place and hasn't been used in years so I have to reason to think it's not in good condition, won't know until I pull it. It will probably fit in a large padded envelope. What do you figure it's worth??

As you can appreciate from my perspective, as little as possible.

Are you still able to power the vehicle to see if the roof still works? Or are you well past that?

Could put a battery charger on the battery cables and give it a go. If I can get it to go back about 4", then I can get to the pin that releases the cable.

I've seen prices all over the place, $30 to over $100 for original cables. How about $45 including postage? I'll put it in a padded envelope and send it on.
