Dear Friends,

As most of you know, Mark and Sherri Stricker have sold their Vienna home and bought a new home in San Antonio, TX. They will be moving at the end of the month, with their daughter Rebecca. Their daughter Bethany relocated to Dallas just over a year ago.

We will miss them! Mark has been a frequent teacher in F&F. Sherri and Rebecca sing in the worship group and minister in music in our class and in many other places. And the family has hosted several socials.

On September 13 we will have a farewell potluck lunch social for them, in our regular classroom, from 10:30 until 2 pm.  We will begin as usual with worship and prayer, then a grace, and a shortened lesson while we start our lunch. (The lesson will have to be short, so that I can help with the food!)  From 12:30 onward, we anticipate reduced numbers, and we will have to close the partition and compress ourselves into Room 3200, the window side of the room. Another group has a reservation for room 3201.

As you should also know, from the following Sunday, September 20, onward, our regular meetings will be in the same rooms, but in the 12:30 to 2 pm time slot. Inevitably, some of our members (I don't yet know how many) will be unable to commit themselves to the new time. In particular, Jeff and Mary Kidwell, who have been with the group since the early 1900's (fairly early, well, the 1990's!) and who first invited Rohini and me to the group, will be leaving us, due to their service in Access's Friendship Club.  So this will be a farewell lunch for the Kidwells and perhaps for others too.

In the kitchen at the opposite corner of the third floor, there are a refrigerator and two 1500W microwave ovens. Consider keeping food in a cooler in your car during the 9 am service, since the refrigerator space is limited.

Rohini and I will provide plates, cutlery, coffee, tea, water and juice as usual. We're not asking people to sign up for what they will bring; we'll just hope for a reasonable mix of appetizers, main dishes and desserts, righteous and unrighteous!

Tentatively, we're also planning to hike Old Rag mountain in the Shenandoah National Park on Saturday, 9/26. Details later.

We truly hope you can join us for these activities!

Love to you all

Glyn & Rohini Roberts
