Was looking through our generated FQs and realised that we don't seem to have included the pathophysiology of asthma, which seems dodgy as the case is on asthma.
So I'm thinking for Q9, I'll cover the classification of respiratory disease, with brief notes on the physiology of obstructive and restrictive lung disease (seeing as we've had lectures and a prac on that side of things now) but adding some more info on asthma itself.
Does that sound okay with everyone?
I promise to keep it brief.
cheers,

1. What is respiratory drive and how is it generated and controlled? Describe the different types of respiratory failure and how they related to respiratory control.
2. Describe current asthma Rx options including different categories (i.e. anti-inflammatory, Beta-agonist, combinations, bronchodilators) and devices
3. Relationship between smoking and respiratory disease, and strategies for cessation.
4. What are the risk factors and epidemiology of asthma. Explain the different types of hypersenstivity.
5. Describe Gas transport around the body, using dissociation curve and explain the blood-gas report
6. Discuss different respiratory tests and their interpretation (spirometry + peak flow)
7. Breaking bad news and impact of unexpected death and impact on family. Asthmatic patient education.
8. What is cyanosis and its mechanism? (central and peripheral) (V/Q mismatch, shunting and dead space)
9. Classification of respiratory disease: obstructive (COPD+asthma), restrictive, and diffused
