VARS 7.0.4 Released

A new version of VARS (7.0.4) is now available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/vars/files/vars/VARS-7/

Notable highlights include:

• Squashed a memory leak when annotating a tape that has thousands of existing annotations.
• This version has been updated to be compatible with Java 7.
• On Macs, video capture hardware is now controlled using QTKit.
• VARS now includes tools for annotating images including point annotations, distance measurements and the ability to draw area polygons.
• There are scripts included in this release for converting area polygons to actual areas using 'Canadian grids'.
• Addressed a peformance issue with the ANNOTATION view in the Derby database.
• Many performance improvements.
