Hi Dmitrii,

> I am trying to install your latest VARS release on my Ubuntu 19.10 and I am getting an error at some step:

So you’re trying to build that latest VARS? I will warn you that’s a pretty big task as you need to run a stack of related microservices too … https://mbari-media-management.github.io/

If you’re really serious about getting the full stack up and running, I’d be happy to provide help and direction. I just want you to be aware it’s a bit of work.

Finally, vars-annotation needs to be compiled with Java 11. Java 11 is a long-term release of Java. But I use a tool to java 14 to package it vars up with it’s own JDK so that users don’t need any java installed on their own computer. So if you want to build vars, you’ll need both Java 11 and Java 14 installed. Set the JAVA_HOME env variable to point at Java 11. Then set the JPACKAGE_HOME env variable to point at Java 14. You’ll also need to set a few other env variables to tell VARS where your microservices live. All the details can be found at https://mbari-media-management.github.io/vars-annotation/resources/markdown/BUILD.html
