Hi all,

Is there any  tutorial or detailed documentation on VARS for reinserting the frame with marked features back to actual video?

No, you can't do that in VARS. You can use the VARS query to output the coordinates of the features; then you'll have to create something yourself to draw on the image. We don't do that, we just take the coordinates and run them through appropriate algorithms to get quantitative values out.

Also, one thing to keep in mind. Videos are running at somewhere between 15 and 60 frames per second. Even if you draw the feature back on to a frame, when playing the video, the marked features will appear to flash VERY briefly and disappear.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. In that case is there any option to save the marked frame as a separate file?.

Not in VARS. You can always use something like https://evernote.com/products/skitch though.

Hi Brian,
Is there a way to manually enter latitude longitude in grabbed frame under 'Physical Data' tab and  recall it later?

Hi Robin,

There’s a command line script named merge_csv that’s included with VARS for loading in position data. If you’re on windows, there’s a bat file you can use at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hohonuuli/vars/feature-vcr4j-3/vars-standalone/src/main/assembly/files/bin/merge_csv.bat. Just download it, drop it in the VARS/bin directory. If you run it, it will display help on how to use it.

Cheers.
