VARS-installation

Hi all,

We are working on installing VARS for underwater video applications. We followed your page of instructions for installation of java and Maven 3.

After installation when we execute the build instruction "mvn install -P dev" we are getting the following errors.

1. The requested profile "dev" could not be activated because it does not exist ...........[how do we create this profile?]

2. The goal you specified requires a project to execute but there is no POM in this directory.....[we tried executing the same using vars master which actually has the POM file, even then we are getting the same error message]..

We followed the installation instruction and we are not familiar with Maven.  can you please tell how to proceed for installation.

Unless you want to make custom changes to the source code, there’s no reason to build it from source. You can download a build of VARS from  https://sourceforge.net/projects/vars/files/ and save yourself a good bit of grief. 

If you really do need to build it from source, let me know and I’ll send you updated instructions.
