Hi,

I am interested in converting metadata from a VARS video file into
an RDF serialization. Are there any tools to automatically extract
this
information?

I haven't really played around with the VARS UI much and I don't
presently
have any example files to play around with, so I'm not sure where to
start.

Thanks,
Ambrose

I haven't written any tools to convert VARS video annotations to RDF. I can give you pointers about the VARS data structures if you're interested in writing such a tool. Depending on what you're trying to do it shouldn't be difficult to put one together.

You can just grab any old quick time movie and try opening it up with VARS. That will at least get you familiar with how to work with it.

Hi Brian,

Yes, I am required to write one. Initial prototype should just
dump any video metadata to RDF. Any pointers would be very
appreciated.

I can't quite work out how to play the video.

I open "annotation" then login.

Video -> Open By Location -> Browse (pick a video)
Then I put 1 as sequence number, and "ok".

And nothing much happens after that?

Thanks,
Ambrose
