Looking for a host for our May CGI Meeting

Hello everyone,

May is upon us, and we do not have a location for our May CGI meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 8.  Is there someone in the Santa Cruz area who is willing to host our meeting?  

What we are looking for is someone to start off the meeting with 15 minutes to share a bit about their classroom routines and lessons that integrate CGI and other tools into their math practice.  

I am also looking for suggestions for topics.  As this will be our last meeting of the 2012-2013 school year, what would you like to discuss?

We had talked about having it at SLE, but attendance has been down a bit as we get closer to summer.  If enough people are willing to drive to Felton, we can do it here.  One topic I thought of is to look back at this year and talk about the beginning of next year.  How would you start with Common Core, the first week?

The May 8th meeting will be held at San Lorenzo Elementary at 6:30 pm.  Thank you to Louanne who has agreed to host.  

Mary, I will write up notes from the meeting and send them out to everyone.  

I love the topic of how to start the year!  I'm looking forward to hearing all of your great ideas!

Hi Michelle, I have been sick for the last couple of weeks. Our
class has a field trip the the Monterey Bay Aquarium today. It is
possible that I will be tooooooo exhausted to come tonight. Bummer,
'coz it is my school and it was gonna be so fun. We'll see how it

Hello everyone!

Thanks to all that came out last Wednesday for the final CGI meeting of the year.  It was a pretty good turnout for the very busy month of May.  I attached some notes for those of you who missed the meeting.  They are not terribly detailed, as I brought my 8 year old and had to remind him several times to be quiet with the legos!  

If anyone who was there last week has anything to add to the notes, feel free to add and attach them to this thread.  

Also, let's continue the conversation, "How will you start the school year, using tools like CGI?"
