Hello Committee!

So I remembered what I was going to email everyone about :] Long story short, Souplantation is going to donate 600 muffins and 400 cookies to our event (yay!). I have a few questions...
  • Do you think this is enough? We're not providing dinner or anything, but if you don't think this is enough food, I'm going to run to Costco or something and buy trail mix and whatnot.
  • I need someone to drive me to Souplantation (the Del Mar location) at 4pm on Saturday afternoon to pick this up.
  • There will be water provided on the yacht, but should we try having beverages while people are waiting to get on the yacht, to complement the muffins/cookies? Or should those be enough?
  • Do you have any other ideas for refreshments?
Thanks! <3

I think if you could hit up a few more places, then you should. It'd be better to have too many food donations if anything, you know? If you haven't done so already, I think you could try Panera Bread (Solana Beach, Mira Mesa) and Starbucks (everywhere). Starbucks especially is known to give out their leftover unsold pastries at the end of the day as charitable donations.

If you still plan on going to Costco, I think we traditionally buy more than just trail mix; more like full sheet cakes and brownies. People are definitely going to get the munchies so stock up on as much food as you can.

I don't think you should serve stuff while people are waiting to get on. Too much setup/cleanup. Focus that time towards raffle sales. Its easy to have pairs of sales people walking around with ticket rolls and change.

We're not allowed to serve food on the yacht, and serving the food afterward is too chaotic, so we were originally planning on going around with trays while people wait in line. Oooo, I'll ask Panera Bread and Starbucks. Good idea :] and I'll see what else I can get at Costco when I go.

But the ticket sales is a really good idea. I'll do that :]

i MIGHT be able to drive you on saturday. i'll let you know later tonight.

would you feel comfortable if you just asked volunteers if they're willing to just bring something if they want to share? cuz i def have like... cookie mix leftover from something that i dont care to give away and have no problem bringing. granted its like.. 24 cookies but its still something.
and dont bother with drinks. unless it gets donated. cuz then we'll have to find cups for everyoneeee x_______x
