In the Adopt OpenJDK programme we're starting to put together a series of events, tutorials and other plans to get Java 8 tested early and tested well.

We have a very short page up at the moment:

Basically the most useful link there is the second one where Richard Warburton provides a tutorial on testing Java 8 as part of your Jenkins CI setup.

I strongly believe this is the sort of thing that we should be championing amongst our communities. Please do share this with your communities and well as implementing it yourselves!
