Hi,

Please check the mail below.

Yesterday’s announcement by the Higher Education Minister has caused a great deal of concern among students and parents. Please note the following:

a.       This action proposed by the government is relevant only to those colleges that offer their own degrees to students for Engineering or MBA programs

b.      BMA does not offer any degree itself. All students are directly registered with the Universities they are studying in and get their degrees directly

c.       Hence BMA does come under the IACTE or the UGC ambit at all as it is for those institutions offering their own degrees

d.      Our partners, Bharatidasan University and Pondicherry University are government universities with complete UGC funding and approval

e.      Our foreign partners, Edith Cowan and Aberdeen Universities are also state run and financed universities affiliated to the Association of Commonwealth Universities that is recognized by the government of India and of which the UGC is an associate.

f.        This kind of situation comes about almost every year and the Department of Higher Education sends out its notices

g.       We have already replied to the notice sent to us last year, enclosing all our registration documents.

h.      We are a registered company under the Companies Act

i.         Last year we explained our legal standing to the Higher Education department and submitted all the required documents

j.        We also went to court and explained our stance. The honorable high court has given a stay order in our favour asking the state government to desist from taking any action

k.       This copy of the stay order is also with the local police station who is apprised of the situation

l.         There is no reason to panic

as per the UGC and AICTE rules and regulations all foreign degrees provided by indian colleges are not legal in India. BMA isn't recognised with any Indian Authority nor it's foreign degrees

Hi,

Further to your mail below, here are some clarifications on the points you have brought up (marked in red):

as per the UGC and AICTE rules and regulations all foreign degrees provided by indian colleges are not legal in India. BMA is not awarding any degrees. The degrees are being awarded  directly by the Universities concerned. And all the Indian Universities we have ties with are government recognized Universities .

ECU is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities(ACU) and all the Universities listed under ACU are formally accepted by the Association of Indian Universities(AIU).AIU is the apex body in recognizing and accrediting any Universities  functioning in India ,including foreign Universities.

BMA isn't recognised with any Indian Authority nor it's foreign degrees:BMA is Registered under the Shops and Establishments Act in Bangalore and is also Registered as a Pvt Ltd Company.

Only 3 colleges of the 32 named have responded to the notice issued and we are one of the three. We are able to respond as we have all the necessary documents to prove that we are not an unauthorized institution. We have a stay order from the High Court that prevents the State Government from taking any action against us.

Hi,

In response to your mail below:

BMA does have the necessary documents as proof , to be issued to concerned authorities as and when required. Why else would the High Court have issued a stay order to the State Government against taking any action against BMA?

Please be assured that BMA has the students interest as first priority.

With regards to your query as to whether the government wants to make money before it loses power, that is a matter of speculation.

my mail was in response to the question from one of our friend about DERECOGNITION OF DEEMED UNIVERSITIES . ECU is not an Indian university, so a college which is not recognized by any educational authority or not affiliated to ( in India), so there is no question of worrying for those who got or getting a foreign degree because it doesn't come under deemed university matter.
