LCU stands for LMN Coprocessor Unit

LCU is an enhanced logic implemented in the MB03+´s FPGA, which can
  • accelerate system performance and speed up programs,
  • help the Z80-CPU to communicate with other hardware, expansions and interfaces or even
  • fully control other add-ons,
  • act and fulfill tasks independently of the processor Z80.
One of the roles of the LCU is a versatile mathematical calculator.
You can test computing skills of the LCU using the file TestLcu3.tap, that you can find in the /MB03plus/LCU directory of the SD memory card archive, in the Download section.

LCU also controls the memory of the LED display.

For more information about the LCU, please read the HW/SW Specs document, https://sites.google.com/view/mb03plus/docs
