Meanwhile, I am digging further in some MS documents like "Set up connectors to route mail between Office 365 and your own email servers". It seems that the use of connectors can maintain mailboxes in both MS 365 and own email servers using same domain. However, this looks like only for on-premises e-mail servers. Will dig a little further before I give up.

You mentioned getting extra Exchange licences for additional share mailboxes - are you referring to shared mailboxed in Microsoft 365? If so, then there is no licence cost for a shared mailbox. There are some limitations, but it is essentially a 'free' mailbox.

You can also convert a normal mailbox to a shared mailbox and vice versa - this is useful for us when a client has a user who has left but they still need to keep the mailbox active/accessible without cost.

Since a few days I have problems accessing to my imap account of the ionos server. I have several accounts that works great but only one not. I have deleted and recreated the account within emClient but its impossible to download the emails. There are about more than 10000 EMails on the server but I will get 17 (seventeen)
Other clients as Google-Mail (Android), Outlook, Apple-Mail or webmail has no problem to access the imap account. Even emClient does.

Next go online via your ionos webmail and see if you can read number 18 on that account and if there is anything obvious in the email that might cause eM Client to get stuck trying to sync in it. Look for any eg: weird hieroglyphs etc in the message.

I also have this issue (Unable to execute POP3 command"), Android 12 on Pixel 4a. Outgoing ionos email works from the phone. Incoming works fine for gmail account and both work fine from Windows laptop.

Just to add mine to list, having same issues with Ionos using Samsung Note 10, K9 5.806, speed working from this morning.
Samsung email app can access emails on ionos server using what appear to be same settings as used on K9.
No issues accessing on outlook on Laptop.
Will look out for update to K9

Being very new and reading microsoft documentation I've understood that for microsoft you need to create a TXT reacord that says "V=verifydomain MS = xxxxxxx". But to obtain the code you need to get a microsoft 365 account. So I did, i actually linked my account to microsoft 365 and in the list of domains it says: "ionos by 1&1 domain. Status: intact". After visiting having a look at my webmail DNS I noticed that microsoft automatically added the txt.

I have been using instantly.ai to send emails. I connected IONOS.ca and JustHost.com mailboxes to instantly and it works fine (warmup, receiving and sending [yes other emails receive the emails sent, and my mailbox inboxes show the warmup emails are coming in]). However, sent emails never show up in the webmail (IONOS.ca & JustHost.com mailboxes) sent folder.

Please help me figure out how to fix this issue myself or what is the correct question to ask support, so that emails sent through the instantly client show up in the sent folders on IONOS and JustHost mailboxes.

It seems the issue arises from accidentally having 2 mailboxes for the same email address. Initially we used Ionos to manage our mailboxes using SMTP to sync accross devices. We switched to Office 365 2 years ago but thought the mailboxes would sync. At the time, we did not know they were 2 seperate email boxes.

When we set up SMTP in Tadabase it was sending emails from the old Ionos mailbox and not the Office 365 mail box. The solution so far is to add the records as Moe suggested, delete the Ionos mailbox and maybe use the outlook Pipe.

Hello,

I have a client that is currently on the IONOS mail server and its DNS is also on IONOS.
He wants to migrate half of his mailboxes to Microsoft 365.

I did some research on the internet and found a way to do this by setting one record of the first mail server to priority 0 (Microsoft 365) and the second to priority 10 (IONOS):

A general advise is to choose IMAP over POP, as it is the safest option and allows you to access the same emails on multiple devices like smartphones, tablets, and PCs. However, if you have a large mailbox and need to conserve storage space, POP becomes the preferable option. With POP, emails are downloaded to your device, freeing up storage capacity in your mailbox.

Moreover, the advanced mailbox security will help in keeping the mailbox protected by applying strict security using top-level antivirus and anti-spam utilities. Even, the one can also add premium virus protection to get the extra safety layer against viruses and online threats. However, the ISO-certified data centers comply with the regulations of strict data privacy and all the emails will then be automatically protected with SSL/TLS encryption.

This software has been designed with top-notch algorithms to ensure hassle-free migration from 1&1 webmail to Gmail mailbox. Yota IONOS to Gmail Migration tool offers an easy-to-use interface and a comprehensive set of features. Whether you want to migrate single email or entire folder, this tool has the capability to cater all the need of users. You can utilize this tool to import 1&1 email to Office 365 and other cloud server also.

It looks like there was a problem reaching your SMTP service

In the above post, we have described the method to backup IONOS email mailboxes to multiple file formats. Here, we used Advik Email Backup Wizard to download IONOS emails to computer. The software supports all Windows OS versions. It also allows you to transfer IONOS emails to various cloud servers.

Additional mailbox accounts can be purchased separately for each program at a discount.

b) You found non-delivery reports "bounces" in your mailbox for messages other than your own. This indicates that a third party has sent these emails through your mailbox without your consent. Please take the following steps to re-establish the security of your 1&1 mailbox:

One of my clients in Whitney (Oxfordshire) had an IONOS (previously 1&1) Exchange 2013 mailbox. Around November 2023 it was upgraded to Exchange 2019 on the IONOS end. After the upgrade, the email account was still accessible via webmail but was no longer working in Outlook. The user tried to remove and re-add the account in Outlook himself but without success.

Even though the IONOS help centre still says that the record should be adsredir.ionos.info, this is incorrect for Exchange 2019. The correct record for IONOS Exchange 2019 is: autodiscover.exchange2019.ionos.co.uk
