So I am in a group and have had 2 sessions with them and they had 2 before I joined so everyone is level 2 and still new to the world. I made a mild mannered Life cleric as there was need for one and I have lost all confidence in being any form of face, I thought id be ok but the party im in is a touch.. evil, like they have killed prisoners, extorted money and threw diplomacy out of the window in order to fight. As a cleric im naturally on the good side and im trying to be the voice of reason and its not gone well, to the point where i skipped the last session as I really didnt wanna play.

So my question is how could a Life Cleric be on the evil side, I dont want to make a new character as everyone is close to leveling up and as a new character is basically be a level behind everyone, not to mention the lack of gold I will have, so I need to find a way of making my once mild mannered and nice firbolg cleric into a mean SOB

Getting into a rules debate with someone. He says that an evil life oracle cannot channel positive energy because it says "channels like a cleric" and clerics can only channel positive energy if they are good or neutral. However, as I said, it specifically says you Channel Positive Energy, "like a cleric," meaning you channel positive energy, using the channel positive energy ability. Can someone clear this up?

You are correct, it specifies positive energy. Make sure to point out that positive energy is not necessarily "good", nor is negative energy "evil". A good cleric can prepare inflict spells, which use negative energy, and an evil cleric can prepare cure spells.

I could picture an evil oracle of life. He would be self-serving, and might enjoy watching his allies inflict cruelty. Maybe he could work as an assistant to a torturer to get the prisoners back in fighting shape for another round of torment.

In an evil party, an evil oracle of life would make perfect sense. Especially lawful evil. You're required to follow orders, and your orders from the higher ups is to keep your party members alive. Every society has healers, even inherently evil ones. People are right that being an oracle can be considered a curse. As a side note if the player is some sort of neutral, such as Neutral Evil or Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good etc. they can also take the Versitle Channeling feat (think that is the name). It allows them to channel the other type of energy but as if they were 2 levels lower.

When you consider the kind of chaos and drama that usually breaks out when some "normal" person suddenly gains the ability to heal the sick and wounded and infirm, I'd say its more surprising that there aren't MORE evil oracles of life.

Applying historical, anthropological, and gender studies analysis, Martha Few argues that women's local practices of magic, curing, and religion revealed opportunities for women's cultural authority and power in colonial Guatemala. Few draws on archival research conducted in Guatemala, Mexico, and Spain to shed new light on women's critical public roles in Santiago, the cultural and social connections between the capital city and the countryside, and the gender dynamics of power in the ethnic and cultural contestation of Spanish colonial rule in daily life.

I watched an episode that affected me more than any I have ever watched, I mean EVER. It is from Season 7, Episode 1/ It Was All Judith. That young man, Corey Breininger's abuse was horrific. The abuse continued for so many years, I am sure the residual effects will last his lifetime, how can it not. What that despicable woman didhow can she possibly be released from prison in 2 short years. The fear that must embody him...I also fear for him. How can he possibly have a peaceful life? How can he possibly EVER experience joy. The unfairness of it all is beyond my comprehension. I do hope that he is seeing a therapist/psychiatrist who has REALLY been able to help him. For me to say to Corey, you may have killed your Dad but in no way are you at all

Part of my bias was the thought that most of these shows were exploitative. I grew up on CourtTV, which is absolutely horrible and the reason there’s such an unhealthy relationship between media and the court system to this day. I assumed this type of programming hadn’t progressed beyond CourtTV’s design. Then I watched two seasons of iD’s Evil Lives Here in a day and realized the entire true crime landscape has changed. Evil Lives Here premiered in 2016 (my mom was eager to tell me that I’m late and this is her territory and she’s BEEN watching). The show focuses on people who lived with or survived absolutely evil people and the signs they saw along the way.

Anyway, my overall goal in life is to write some TV, do stand-up comedy and in my golden years, I travel the country interviewing cult survivors for some sort of true crime reality TV series. Evil Lives Here is the kind of show I aim to make: one that centers survivors and helps in their healing journey while educating the masses on some fucked up shit. Everything I do is to make my mom proud and I know that won’t happen until she’s falling asleep at 1am, listening to the details of a mass cult suicide and then she opens one eye to see “Executive Producer: Ashley Ray-Harris” in the credits.

This time, a character teaser of Seo Do Young, played by Kim Young Kwang, the second-in-command of the criminal organization and an absolute villain who drags Han Dong Soo into the world of evil was unveiled. It was released following the release of the first character teaser video of Han Dong Soo, who crossed the line and became a villain. Seo Do Young begins by asking, "A line to step on?" The creepy words of Seo Do Young, which are interpreted as natural but evil, makes the viewers see his cruel and ruthless character, heightening the tension. "Aren't you sick of it, of losing?" asked Seo Do Young. Han Dong Soo is constantly pressured by him, and he tells him, "You always lose." At the same time, baseballs covered in blood appear on the screen, igniting speculation that Seo Do Young's competitive nature stems from his baseball playing days.

And I think that life is more like that than the pure kind of easy light ones. And those are more real to me: those are more real conflicts, where real people struggle with real problems, and have to make compromises.

Prewitt does not explicitly address abortion in her letter. I am unaware of her professional opinion concerning the outcome of Roe v. Wade. But her story and the life of her child are both a testimony to the power of God to produce a greater good from an appalling evil.

He intends for us to experience rest and contentment and joy that come from the Spirit. The work has been accomplished, the slaves are free, life is a gift. He is the Lord of the Sabbath, and if he is your Lord, that is his intention for you.

Nussbaum and Sen argue that people need resources and an environment conducive to their being able to develop a conception of the good life, for them to be able to develop a range of proper emotional attachments, for them to be able to engage in imaginative play, for them to be free of violence, and more.

This is Nick Marino, writer and letterer of The Evil Life. Nils-Petter Norlin and I have had so much fun bringing these characters to life, and we hope you absolutely love reading their exploits. Thanks for checking us out!

The cartoons I watched as a child depicted the scenario of choice well. When a decision was to be made, a little devil and angel would appear on opposite shoulders and tell the cartoon character what to do and why. The devil was often depicted as a wily, funny, happy-go-lucky, party guy with clever arguments. He whispered in the direction of immediate gratification, in an attempt to block out the softer voice of the angel on the other side.

Following in the footsteps of Hitler, we must remember his hope was not only to impose his idea of fascist eugenics on the world, but to take away the innocence, hope and love of those who remain. Using fear, he tried to dismantle the remaining faith of those who are strong enough to turn their backs on the selfish whims of their own whispering devils; who choose to believe in something other than hate.

The identification of Fascism with evil and a source of national shame, and the consequent desire to keep quiet about it, even among those not actually responsible, and who were powerless to act, acquiescent or passive onlookers, signifies that power makes those who are subjected to it complicit in its exercise. This involvement explains the frequent recurrence in the memoirs, and also in the historiography of the period immediately following the fall of Fascism, of a sense of shame, guilt, silence and injury.

This week the Rambam quotes a number of key Scriptural verses which establish this same principle. In Deuteronomy Ch. 30 G-d offers us the choice: good or evil, life or death. The two paths of life are laid out before us. G-d tells us the score, He urges us to follow the path of good, He wishes that we would, but He does not and cannot force us. For the world would be pointless if man had no choice, if we were just following some pre-written script without any say of our own. G-d had to leave our fates up to us. He presents us with the facts and tells us which path He would like us to traverse, but beyond that we are left on our own.
