Does anyone know it's possible to find driver for old notebook's video card amd radeon hd 7670m? The point is Catalyst stopped support this graphic interface. I can't using backup kit for return to factory settings, because it requests disabled external devices, while my notebook connected to out-monitor, and built-in displey is broken. I waste many time to tune my computer to work.
For the last few days I've been fighting to install all the drivers and have the switchable graphics work.. I finally did it (meaning that I can change between High - Low Efficiency in catalyst) but i doesn't work 100% fine.
- dell support center application cannot see other graphics than Intel HD, while win7 shows no problems in the device manager with it (AMD Radeon 7670m). So i cannot make a test for it with dell application
1. installed system (Win7) and upgraded it (It has installed it's driver for Intel graphics), then I installed all the drivers from Dell site (without Intel HD cause for my notebook there's Intel HD 4000 driver prepared while I have HD 3000??) - still graphic not working
2. second after speaking on phone with Dell tech support I've uninstalled all video drivers and applications. I've downloaded latest driver for Intel HD 3000 from Intel site. Installed Intel drivers - restarted system - installed dell drivers for 7670. - problem remained
So that's all I think - I have also a question about the drivers on the site - I haven't installed Intel HD 4000 being sure I have 3000 but the rest of the drivers prepared for me have been installed. Now I think about the motherboard... While my processor is a sandy box architecture notebook should consist of HM65 chipset ... The drivers I've installed are for HM77 - -15r-5520?driverId=2D89J&osCode=W764&fileId=2989745820 cause those were prepared for me after entering Service number. Dell control center also shows I have Chipset 7-series installed (It says it's working)..
There are certain applications which only work with the Integrated GPU (Intel video card). Please let me know with which application are you facing this issue with? I will recommend you to uninstall both the video drivers from the 'Device Manager' and update the BIOS:
Note: Please save all your data as your system will restart automatically after the BIOS update. The ac adapter should be connected and the battery should be at least 10% charged. Please disconnect all the external devices connected to the system before updating the BIOS
Note: PC restore will lead to data (pictures, documents, programs, music) loss. Please perform a data backup prior to this step. Please disconnect any external peripherals (printer, scanner or any USB device) as well.
